Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

BAILEY
Stats: 1 year, female
Location: Austin, TX
Adoption Fee: $275
Requirements:
• No Apartments
Bailey is a one year old, 30 pound medium energy Aussie. She is a loving, cuddly girl who wants nothing more than to be your companion wherever you go! She is great with people, and lives for snuggles and wrestling in the backyard.
Bailey loves to roughhouse, including with her foster brothers. She loves walks, bones, and squeaky toys, and always wants to be at the center of whatever is happening in the house. She does very well in public spaces, and is happy to lie next to you at an outdoor bar or restaurant. Bailey loves people, including children, and likes to walk up to them and sit down just in case they want to give her a treat. When the day is done, her favorite thing is to cuddle up next to you on the couch. Sometimes she can be an attention hog, but does well when reminded she’s not an only child!
While Bailey loves people and her foster brothers, she’s a little shy when meeting new dogs. She can sometimes bark, but usually will warm up after some slow introductions. Her foster family has been regularly taking her to public spaces with other animals, and she would love her forever family to prioritize even more socialization. While it might take her a bit to warm up to her new digs, once she knows she’s safe, she’s as loving and playful as can be.
Bailey is great on a leash, and knows basic commands including sit, wait, and leave it. She crates easily and is good about entertaining herself with toys while you're busy. She is also fully housetrained.
Bailey is up to date on all core vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. She is being fostered in Austin and is available to adopt in Texas and some areas of Oklahoma only. If chosen, you must be able to travel to Austin within 7 days of application approval.
