BEAU
Stats: 1.5 year old, male (mini)

Location: Austin, TX

Adoption Fee: $275

Beau is a 1.5 year old, 37 pound, medium energy mini Aussie who can be a bit reserved at first, but loves to receive affection from people of all ages. He took a bit of time to adjust and truly show his personality, but will quickly become a velcro boy glued to his humans. He likes to be by your side at all times and is ecstatic to greet you each time you arrive back home, although still often needs reminders to settle and not jump up/bark in his excitement.

Beau needs an active family to keep him stimulated physically and mentally, but is also very happy to cuddle on the couch with his humans after a good round of play and exercise. He enjoys runs or long walks, and although he occasionally gets anxious with new sounds, looks to his people for reassurance and direction. He will need plenty of continued outings and socialization to build his confidence even further.

He hasn’t quite mastered fetch yet, but loves chew toys and is starting to get the idea to chase them when thrown and bring them back. He would enjoy an ample supply of ones to rotate chewing on.

Beau has gotten along with and enjoys playing with his current foster sibling, but has shown some reactivity when meeting new dogs once he settled in. He will need a family with no other dogs in their home currently, but who are very committed to continuing consistent, positive exposure to dogs so he can learn to be confident and enjoy regular play dates with friends. He has lived with a cat previously and did well with them.

He’s a very smart, food motivated, and eager to please boy who is excited to learn and train. He has been working on all basic commands and is now house and crate trained as well. He does currently need to be crated when unattended to avoid his curious young mind from getting into things when you’re away, but is well mannered and happy to sleep by your side in bed through the night.

Beau is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, Heartworm negative, and current on Heartworm and flea prevention. He is being fostered in Austin and is available for adoption in Texas and some areas of Oklahoma only. If chosen for adoption, you must be able to travel to Austin within 7 days of application approval.
