Bella is a 3 year old, 38 lb, medium energy level, female Australian Shepherd. She is a bit timid at first, but don’t let her fool you with that act. Once she opens up, she is a lively gal who will do anything for a back scratch or snuggles on the couch. She takes a few minutes to warm up to new people in her home, but is just a little hesitant and not reactive. Once she sees they’re safe, she treats them like family.
Bella is true to the breed and definitely a velcro dog. She will follow her family around the house from room to room and will wait patiently for you to finish in the bathroom. Bella is so eager to be with her family that she struggles a little in her crate when her family first leaves, but will settle down after a bit. She definitely needs her family’s attention and will whine quietly if you make eye contact and don’t supply pets.
Bella has the beauty and the brains! She knows to come when called, sit, shake, down, crate and a few others. She recalls really well, and with a bit more training, she could be perfect at it. Her hobbies include walks around the neighborhood, several games of fetch with a tennis ball or rope, and swimming. Bella is a water dog through and through, and would love a family that will take her for swims at a local lake or a hose for her to chase. When swimming at lakes, she will fetch sticks and bring them back to shore.
Bella is a dream when walking on leash. She does not tug or pull, but is not afraid to stop and smell the flowers. She will peacefully walk by other dogs and keeps her distance when walking by other people. She will need Continued outings and exposure to build her confidence even more.
Bella can live with other dogs in the home, but wouldn’t be a good match for someone looking for a playmate for their dog. She is very people oriented and definitely prefers people to dogs. When given the choice to play tug-of-war with a dog or a person, she will bring her toy to the person every time.
Bella doesn’t do well with non-dog pets in the household such as cats or other small animals.
All-in-all, Bella is a well-behaved dog with moderate energy who would love a family to play with and get attention from. She is a sweet gal who is eager to please and hoping to find her forever home.
Bella is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives.
