Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

BO
Stats: 10 months old, male
Location: Denton, TX
Adoption Fee: $325
Bo is a 10 month old standard Aussie who doesn’t know a stranger. Everyone he meets is his best friend! He does wonderful when meeting new people out and about as well as in the home setting. He is an affectionate boy who is very in your face with his love to both people and dogs. He has lots of puppy energy and his family and any potential dog siblings will need to match that exuberant, active personality.
He has great leash skills and has been working with his foster on a heel. This boy loves to go out on adventures so a very social, active family is a must!
He already knows SIT and “go to your house” for his crate. He is making a lot of progress on OFF and DOWN and the difference between them. He is so eager to please and picks up on commands very fast! He loves any verbal praise , but food incentive goes a long way with him as well! He has a lot of potential and loves to learn!
Bo is house and crate trained. He is a curious young boy and likes to explore a little too much, so currently he can’t be left alone uncrated in the home. However, with continued training and maturity, we expect him to be able to in the future.
He is curious in his foster kitty brother but does not chase or pester. A confident cat would likely be best.
Bo is up to date on all core vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. If chosen, you must be able to travel to Denton within 7 days of application approval.
