This lovable lady is ready to find her forever home. Nova is a medium energy, 2 year old, 66 pound standard Aussie. Her favorite things include going on walks, meeting new people and attention, attention, attention.

She was raised with children and would love to receive constant attention from more of her own. She knows no stranger and with some training would make a great therapy dog. She is very calm and sweet when meeting new people.

She is making lots of improvements, but is still working on her stubborn nature. She is very independent and prefers to do things on her terms. She would do best with an experienced strong owner to ensure she follows the house rules and not Nova rules.

She is generally okay with other dogs but can be dominant and bossy. She would not do well with an equal personality. She likes to wrestle with goofy playful dogs and can share toys. She prefers to be the center of attention and would do just fine in a home without other dogs. She is also fine with cats. She may chase if they run but respects when a cat doesn’t appreciate it.

She was very overweight when she came into our program but has since lost 13 pounds and likely needs to lose another 5-7. With daily walks and diet food the weight is coming off easily, but she needs an adopter committed to keeping her at a healthy weight.

She is house trained and is trustworthy alone in the house. She knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. When she sees other dogs on leash she wants to pull to them to say hi. If they are reactive, she might react back and will need continued work on this. She loads up and rides in the car just fine.

She is being fostered north of Dallas and is available for adoption in Texas and parts of Oklahoma.
