📍another confident, playful dog
📍no cats or only dog-savvy cats ok with him trying to play
Sweet Patches is a 9 month old Double Merle Aussie, weighing 32 pounds (small standard sized). He is deaf and visually impaired in his right eye, but this does not stop him from being a normal, happy, active puppy! He is careful at first to learn his surroundings but has confidently mastered the stairs in his foster home as well as obstacles/ trees in the yard... that darn glass shower door can NOT be walked through! He now races around the house and yard just like any other pup. He has learned hand signals for many basic commands while in foster care and will benefit from ongoing work in his forever home to learn even more.
He is a medium energy level boy who LOVES to play and needs plenty of exercise to stay out of puppy trouble (chewing on things). He and his fosterdog sibling chase and wrestle many times a day, zooming around the yard at full speed! Patches gets along well with every dog he’s met and needs another playful, confident dog in the home not only to play with but to take cues from. He often knows it's time to eat, go potty or come inside because he sees his foster sibling doing these things.
While he does not mean any harm to his fostercat siblings, he has not figured out a gentle enough way to play with them yet and really wants to. He needs a house with dog-savvy cats, owners willing to continue training, or a house with no cats.
Patches is the sweetest boy and gets compliments on his good manners wherever he goes. He walks nicely on a leash and sits to greet new people. He is very gentle with kids and grown-ups alike, and his gentle disposition would make him a good candidate for a therapy dog. He is a typical velcro aussie and stays close to his foster mom whenever possible. He will often lay at (on) her feet, so he knows when she gets up to move to the next location. He loves to cuddle with his humans and gives the sweetest toe baths around!
Since he loves to be with his people so much, he has some separation anxiety and gets anxious when he can't be with them. He is doing much better in his crate than when he first arrived to his foster home and now chooses to rest there when his people are near.
Patches is being fostered in the Dallas area and is available for adoption in Texas only. He is house trained, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on monthly Heartworm preventative.
