Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

RILEY
Stats: 2 years old, female
Location: TX
Intake: 03/01/2022
Adoption Fee: TBD
Meet Riley! Riley (and sister Murphy) sadly lost their owner unexpectedly. Lucky for them, their owner's family is friends with adopters of a couple of LSAR dogs, so they reached out to see if we could help them.
They have been understandably stressed out with so may changes and new things in their world, but are improving on a daily basis.
Their owner's family and friends did not believe they are a bonded pair, and based on our observations so far, we don't think they are either. We do think that they have developed what is very common when siblings stay together - one dog's personality seems to outweigh the other's and can have a negative impact when it comes to insecurity, etc. We will most likely adopt them out individually so they can continue to grow in confidence and experiences each on their own, and be the best they can be, individually.
Riley (and Murphy) are both very friendly with all people they have met so far and we look forward to helping them find a soft landing after the unfortunate loss of their owner.
Welcome to LSAR Riley!
