Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

RYDER
Stats: 7 years old, male
Location: Dallas, TX
Intake: 3/20/2022
Adoption Fee: $275
Requirements:
-
No Small Children
Ryder is a 7-year-old, medium energy, 50 lb. standard beauty who absolutely loves attention and socializing with anyone and everyone, playing ball, riding on a golf cart, going for walks and playing with his dog friends. He enjoys a good game of fetch, especially with his ball, or even playing with his toys by himself. He loves to explore by going on long walks or hikes and car rides. He is very friendly with anyone he meets and loves socializing. He is so loving and believes he is a lap dog.
Ryder learns quickly, is eager to please, and is both treat and praise motivated. He is quick to pick up on the “dos” and don’ts” by watching his dog mates and will look to his humans for guidance when he thinks he could get in trouble. Ryder gets very excited when treats are given or when it’s time to eat, so is continuing to work on “wait” and “leave it” until he is released to eat. He is fine with dog-savvy cats who aren’t runners and is best with older kids, if any.
In the house Ryder loves cuddles and attention; he loves to rest his head on his human and take a long nap. He has learned to relax and chill in the house. He is good at dinner time and does not beg. Ryder does not bark much, but he will alert you when someone is at the door, but is quick to settle, and friendly if company comes over. He rides excellent in the car and is up for any trip!
Ryder is fully housebroken and trustworthy/nondestructive uncrated when left alone, and LOVES hanging out on the couch, recliner or bed with or without his person. He will even turn down the bed for you if you let him.
Ryder is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and is current on Heartworm and flea prevention. He is being fostered in the Dallas area and is available for adoption in Texas and some areas of Oklahoma only. If chosen for adoption, you must be able to travel to Dallas within 7 days of application approval. If you have an application on file with us already and would like to be considered for Ryder, please email or message us!
