Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

SADIE
Stats: 15 weeks old, female
Location: TX
Intake: July 17, 2021
Adoption Fee: TBD
Sadie is a 15-week-old mini Aussie who was surrendered after her owner had a change in life circumstances and could no longer care for her.
Her owner mentioned that Sadie had a limp for around a week but didn’t seem to be in any pain as she still wanted to play all the time. After arriving in foster care, we saw signs of what appears to be a dislocated hip. The potential dislocation became fully visible upon bathing her (the “lump” in the third photo). She'll be seeing a vet first thing tomorrow to see if it's not too late to set that hip back into place, or if instead, she'll need a specialized orthopedic surgery and/or rehab. for no major surgery!!
Update:
She was seen by an orthopedic specialist who concurred with her vet that not only is her hip out of place, but it's also fractured. The break has resulted in bone on bone rubbing so it's amazing she is able to run and play as she tries her best to. She definitely needs a FHO surgery ASAP so we are working with our surgical partners now to get her in for that. We appreciate any well-wishes for this sweet girl and if you'd like to contribute towards her surgery, you can donate at PayPal.me/LSAR.
