Tank is a 2-year-old, 43 lb., medium energy standard Aussie. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who is all about people! This joyful Aussie does not have much interest in playing with other dogs, toys, or bones. He craves human interaction above everything else! He would do well in a social, higher traffic household. Tank is an excellent listener and will make a loyal companion. Pleasing people motivates him more than food. He is easily excitable when meeting people and will jump up to greet them. This lovable boy lives up to his name “Tank” and will stop at nothing, including pawing and head nudging, to get pet. He can be demanding in his quest for attention from people, so he definitely has some room for improvement in the manners department.

Tank came to us after having been hit by a car and undergoing surgery to repair his broken back leg, but he does not let the metal plate in his leg slow him down one bit! He enjoys going on long walks, goes nuts for car rides and will run around at a dog park or visiting other friends, but is also just as happy snuggling up next to you on the couch. Tank walks well on a leash. He gets excited when cars drive by, so he will need to be kept on leash when vehicles are around. He has mastered basic commands, but needs continued work on “off.” Tank was previously an outdoor dog but has adjusted wonderfully to being an inside pet. He is house trained and trustworthy outside of a crate. Tank is an extremely easy-going guy, who will make an amazing companion! He’s a little too focused on cats when he has met them, so would do best in a home without them.

Tank is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and is current on Heartworm and flea prevention. He is being fostered in Dallas and is available for adoption in Texas and some areas of Oklahoma only. If chosen for adoption, you must be able to travel to Dallas within 7 days of application approval.
