Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

WINSTON
Stats: 2 years old, male
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Intake: 03/08/25
Adoption Fee: $275
Social: #winston510
Meet Winston! Winston is a 2-year-old, 56 lb (he is working on getting down to around 50), low- to medium-energy boy with a smart mind and a goofy heart. He’s affectionate, curious, and loves learning new skills—especially at the park. He’s currently learning to play frisbee and can fetch a ball nonstop (until he decides it’s his now).
His favorite thing? Standing on the little dog park platform for 10 minutes of brushing and hugs—soaking up love and sunshine. He also loves car rides and just being able to go out and about. He is the perfect daily companion whether you want to hike or work from home. He just wants to please his people and be involved.
He loves meeting new people and is quite the gentleman about it. He also absolutely loves children. He’s great with most dogs and has a circle of pup friends in the community. He can be a bit leash reactive, but he’s responding well to training. He’s crate trained, house trained, knows basic commands, and picks up new ones fast.
He is being fostered in Fort Worth and is available for adoption in Texas and parts of Oklahoma. You can complete an adoption application, or if you already have an application on file with us, you can contact us saying you are interested in Winston.
