Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

BEAR
Stats: 2 years old, male
Location: Dallas, TX
Intake: May 2026
Adoption Fee: $275
Social: #Bear554
Meet Bear! He is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old standard Aussie weighing 55 pounds, with a lower medium energy level and a heart full of love.
At home, Bear is a velcro dog through and through. He will follow you from room to room, supervise yard work, lounge beside you in the living room, and sleep on the floor right next to your bed. If you ask Bear what his favorite activity is, the answer is simple: whatever you are doing.
He is house trained, crate trained, and can be trusted loose in the home. Bear knows sit and paw, learned how to use a dog door, and is eager to please. Like most Aussies, he is a bit vocal and will tell you what he thinks!
Bear gets along great with other dogs and loves meeting new friends. He is also good with cats, though his enthusiasm can be a bit much, so he would do best with a dog savvy cat.
Bear is searching for a family who can make him their main focus, ideally in a home without children. A couple of walks, some backyard time, and quality time with his people are enough to make this boy happy.
Bear is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on monthly heartworm prevention. He just completed his treatment for heartworms. He is being fostered in the Dallas area and his adopter will need to travel to meet him within seven days of approval. He is available for adoption within Texas and Oklahoma only. His adoption fee is $275 and you can complete an adoption application. If you already have an application on file, you can contact us to let us know you're interested in Bear.
Please note: All our dogs are adopted as inside pets and family members only. All current or past pets in the home must have proof of being kept up to date on vaccinations and Heartworm prevention — NO EXCEPTIONS!
