WELCOME TO THE DONATION STATION!
There are many ways to support rescue efforts: Give a gift, volunteer or even shop online to support an Aussie in need. Our Aussies appreciate any support you are able to provide and our team thanks you for your generosity toward helping LSAR pooches find health and homes!
Our rescue efforts are funded primarily though individual donations and online fundraisers. Click here to see some commonly incurred rescue expenses. Donations can be made securely via Paypal and funds are directly applied to helping Australian Shepherds in need.
Our team can use various items, such as kennels, blankets and other supplies to help care for our rescue pets. Please contact us to see what items we may need. Or, please check out our Amazon Wishlist and have items sent direct from Amazon. Easy peasy!
GIVE A GIFT
BECOME A FOSTER
Fostering is the hands-on approach to supporting rescue efforts! If you have room in your home and extra love for an Aussie in need, please consider joining our foster program. No special training required, but dog experience (or current dog ownership) is great! If you're willing and able, we need you!
HELP WITH TRANSPORT
We need volunteers along our major routes (Austin, Waco, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio areas) to help with Freedom Rides. If you are unable to foster, this is a great way to donate your time to help the pups! Transport times are usually flexible with your schedule and how far you are comfortable driving.
When you shop at smile.amazon.com, Amazon donates to us at no extra cost to you! Just designate Lone Star Aussie Rescue as your preferred rescue through the AmazonSmile program.
SHOP AT CHEWY.COM
Order pet food, supplies, even toys at Chewy.com and we will receive a one-time donation of $20! Just be sure to use our special link: https://prf.hn/click/camref:1100ldCr2

LSAR rescues Aussies from a variety of situations. Dogs are brought into our rescue from animal shelters, humane organizations, found as strays, or may be directly surrendered to us by owners who are no longer willing or able to care for them. Rescuing and caring for each pet can be costly depending on the situation and the pet's condition. Basic and sometimes extraordinary expenses are incurred to ensure their safety, health and comfort.
In addition to expenses like shelter fees, supplies, and transport, veterinary care is our most substantial expense. When a pet is rescued, our first order of business is to determine their level of health and address any issues, concerns or needs with a veterinarian. All rescued Aussies are provided any necessary veterinary care to give them the best possible quality of life, including:
heartworm testing (and treatment)
Beyond the basics, each Aussie's individual needs may vary from kennel cough, injuries, infections, etc. Treatment, medication, corrective procedures and surgeries can be costly, so we work with clinics and veterinary hospitals to ensure the best course of action and negotiate to obtain the best possible pricing.
