Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

GIVING TUESDAY
JOIN IN NOV 28, 2023
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past eight years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
You've got Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We hope you'll find time for GivingTuesday!
The best part is, if you want to give now or later, you are welcome to donate any day and at any time of the year! Donating securely is easy. Just click the yellow button below to go straight to our PayPal page.
As with all fundraising efforts, proceeds go toward medical care, supplies and more to ensure happy, healthy adoptable Aussies. This includes vet exams, spay/neuter procedures, treatments, and medication.
Thank YOU for stopping by! And, if you are inspired to make a donation and be part of this year's GivingTuesday, we thank you for your support!
LSAR rescues Aussies from a variety of situations. Dogs are brought into our rescue from animal shelters, humane organizations, found as strays, or may be directly surrendered to us by owners who are no longer willing or able to care for them. Rescuing and caring for each pet can be costly depending on the situation and the pet's condition. Basic and sometimes extraordinary expenses are incurred to ensure their safety, health and comfort.
In addition to expenses like shelter fees, supplies, and transport, veterinary care is our most substantial expense. When a pet is rescued, our first order of business is to determine their level of health and address any issues, concerns or needs with a veterinarian. All rescued Aussies are provided any necessary veterinary care to give them the best possible quality of life, including:
-
routine vaccinations
-
spay/neuter procedures
-
heartworm testing (and treatment)
-
microchipping
Beyond the basics, each Aussie's individual needs may vary from kennel cough, injuries, infections, etc. Treatment, medication, corrective procedures and surgeries can be costly, so we work with clinics and veterinary hospitals to ensure the best course of action and negotiate to obtain the best possible pricing.
WHAT CAN I DONATE TO SUPPORT RESCUE EFFORTS?
All types of donations are welcome from monetary support to supplies to extra hands on deck.

Monetary Donations: Regardless of the amount, we are truly grateful for each and every monetary donation. Funds can be dispersed as needed, when needed and where needed to make the biggest impact!
-
Supplies: If you'd like to donate supplies, such as food, bowls, blankets, collars, or kennels, please drop us a message to see what we may be able to use at the moment.
