Fosters are what make our organization go, go, go! The more fosters we have, the more pups we can welcome into safe, loving environments before they are ready to be adopted into permanent, forever homes.
The LSAR Foster Program is simple: We supply the pet, just add food, shelter and love! We will take care of all approved veterinary costs (including medications) for your LSAR foster pet. We just ask you treat them like one of your own; give them food/water, a soft, safe place to lay their head, and lots of love.
You do not have to be a dog whisperer to apply! No degree or special training is required. But make no mistake, fosters are indeed very special people! Fosters must be loving, patient, giving and dedicated. If this sounds like you, we'd be delighted to have you on our team!
Please note: A complete (and approved) application, as well as a home visit are required to join the LSAR Foster Program. We are currently "recruiting" fosters within our service area only. Please apply to foster if you currently reside within Texas or Oklahoma.

You're about one of the cutest senior fellas... this is Jack. He's an 11.5 year old LOVE who joined us this weekend. Sadly, his lifelong home wasn't much of a home life for him anymore with very limited attention and extensive time left alone outside. Jack is too social for that! He decided to bust out and go mingle with the neighbors! They took a shine to him (how can you not?) and after getting the go-ahead from his owner, started networking to try and find Jack a more suitable home. We got lucky with a foster who stepped up and agreed to foster this sweet boy. So it's nothing but love, attention, and all good things living as an indoor family member for him from here on out!
Unfortunately, it appears that Jack has had no vetting his WHOLE life, aside from his very first puppy shots (we have records for those). We've booked the first available appt. with one of our vets to give him a full once over, senior bloodwork, etc. Fingers crossed he remains as lucky as he has been his whole life in not having any major health concerns. We'll be extremely fortunate if he is does not have Heartworms. He is proving to us to be just as good of a boy as all the neighbors knew he was. There was a group of them who showed up to wish him farewell as he joined us . Welcome to LSAR Jack!
